What you should know

The majority of the gowns we stock are over 50 years old!  They will have all the expected signs of age (even some wrinkles).  We strive to let you know what to expect before it arrives on your doorstep.

The vintage wedding gowns are not sized by today's standards.  A measuring tape is your FRIEND...measure over your clothes for wiggle room.  The gowns are measured flat on a table, so select something from your closet that fits well and compare the measurements.

Keep in mind that brides married very young and were built much differently than we are today. That's why there are so many 24-26" waists and not much larger than that available for sale. Our selection of authentic vintage wedding gowns range from size 0-12.

There are hundreds of styles from many eras to choose from.  No two are exactly the same. For best selection, come to one of our public appearances. Vintage Bridal.net brings over 400 gowns to each event. A list of upcoming events is posted on our home page...

Back in "the good ol' days" women wore horrible body deforming devices like girdles, waist cinchers, body shapers and corsets.! These gowns were DESIGNED AROUND the "hardware" that went under them, THEN to a woman's body shape with "the gear" on.  The undergarments were factored into the designing process.  So, if a tiny size 2 bride wore a girdle to get into the gown -- WELL, that explains a lot.

Consider a bridal gown with an empire waist, but don't diet yourself down to nothing just to squeeze into a gown!  You are perfect and beautiful JUST the way you are, so don't change A THING!remember to be CREATIVE.  We have brides purchase gowns for the VINTAGE FABRICS.  Many times, the skirt can be left original and "married" to a reworked top half. These fabrics and trims are heirlooms and could be reused for a "something old" look to your custom gown.

Vintage Bridal wants all our clients to find the right gown to best suit your dream of the perfect wedding day.  We make every effort to help ease the stress of shopping for that gown.

Most of the vintage gowns we stock are purchased from our friends at the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation. Their Antique & Retro Gown Division has thousands of donated gowns available for purchase. http://www.makingmemories.org

Vintage gowns are not in perfect condition and can be expected to have flaws or some damage and wear. We strive to call attention to any repairs that are needed and take pride in finding the most unique bridal gowns available. However, we realize that on occasion a gown will need to be returned.  Shipping costs are never refunded.  Exchanges are cheerfully granted and our brides are WONDERFUL!  Thank you for including Vintage Bridal.net in your special day!
