The heirloom
tinting process is a way to enhance lovely vintage wedding gowns with just a
hint of soft color.
These colors are shades of champagne, blush hues, pearly earth tones and upon special request, soft shades of blue.
Applied completely by hand with a small brush, the effect adds an antique patina to the lace, with subtle shading and highlights. The last step is to hand-sew on beadwork to further enhance the effect.
"Just as each gown is unique, the way that I add color is special to the gown I am currently working on. My technique is always being perfected and evolves with each gown I complete. The biggest challenge is to keep the color from running into other areas. I found that I need to work in two inch sections, then quickly dry the area completely." ~ Brenda Chovanak Vintage Bridal.net
